The Peoria Champion is decided with a six man round robin event. The first qualifier is the previous years champion. Aleksey Makeyev a former Bradley student from Russia won in 1997 and 1998. Henry Getz won in 1999. The second qualifier is last year's Greater Peoria Open winner or highest placing local player. The third qualifier is Board 1 League winner. The winner of the annual December tournament qualifies. The winner of the Class Championships also qualifies. The sixth player is an at Large Invitee.

The winner of the round robin will receive possession of the GPCF traveling trophy.

December Tournament - Pete Karagianis	Class Winner -- Andy Voss	Invitee -- Scott Small

The tournament will be held this year over a series of Monday Nights with players that did not qualify for the Invitational receiving free USCF rated games in a match play format. Simply show up on Monday night before 7:30 and you will be paired against someone as close to your USCF rating as possible.
